Continuous monitoring of patients on opioids has been shown to reduce adverse events, harm and even costs, according to a national survey of hospital practices. In this live webinar, the faculty will discuss strategies for reducing risks of adverse events, including:

  • patient assessment and effective monitoring,
  • safer use of patient controlled analgesia (PCA),
  • coordination of care and staff-patient family education, and
  • use of a PCA safety checklist to improve safety.
