Demand Response

A demand response energy management program pays you to reduce or shift energy use at your facility when the grid is under stress or prices are spiking. Depending on your organization’s needs and abilities, energy reductions might involve shutting off some nonessential lighting, adjusting thermostat settings, turning off any unnecessary equipment or delaying energy intensive processes until after a demand response event has passed. In some regions, if you have on-site generation capabilities, you can also choose to transfer your load to a back-up generator-effectively removing your organization from the grid for a brief period.

Demand response also gives you real-time visibility into your energy consumption through web-based dashboards, creating ongoing cost reduction opportunities through the identification of peak demand charges, night set-back optimization, and utility bill reconciliation.
